These days gardens are visited by many just to relieve their stress and be with nature and spend time relaxing. Walking in a garden is such an amazing thing to do. Looking at those flowers and those sweet smells coming from them is awesome. The gardens are spread over an acre of land having variety of plants with various flowers in various colors and smells.

Did you ever wonder how things work at managing them and what kind of precautions the owner has to take to look it beautiful and relaxing for a viewer? The owner has to look from shaping till planting giving water, cleaning them, providing them with fertilizers and germicides etc. All the above things are looked for the maintenance of the gardens. The various equipments required need to be kept properly and these are in bulk stock as the acre of land is big so what they require is a shed.

The sheds constructed here are huge and all the equipments are stored here like the various germicides, fertilizers, scissors to shape the plants and all the essentials. These sheds are storage sheds so they do not require sunlight but the place should be dry or else the weapons may get rusted which will affect the plants. There should also be various partitions available in it so that one can store alike things together like a rack full with germicides, a rack with instruments like spade, scissors, etc; and these things should be kept on top so water doesn’t touch them and rust it.

The various kinds of sheds are:

Basic shed:

This is used for general purpose and the size can be any but to start with it is an 8′X12′ shed.

Three-in-one garden shed:

This type of three-in-one garden shed gets on to your imagination as it has everything including the normal garden and gazebo with potting shed- all-in-one!

Garden tool shed:

As by its name, it’s a shed where one can keep all the gardening tools.

Large shed:

It is a bigger shed to keep all the tools and various gardening equipments. One can also firewood racks to keep warm during harsh winters.

The above are the various names for various kinds of sheds but the most important thing is constructing these sheds depend upon the size of gardening area and the number of sheds made. In other words one may build a large shed and use it for all the purpose whereas one may build more sheds but smaller ones.

An Impressive Piece of Garden Furniture

So what is an outdoor pool table, what makes it suitable for use outdoors? Well basically it is the same as any other pool table, except the frame and cloth are treated to protect against the elements. The frame is either pressure treated wood, just like the decking on your patio or fibreglass which is totally weatherproof. The cloth is treated with a Simonise type process so it repels water. ( I’ve seen the cloth put under a tap and the water just runs off and the cloth is dry to the touch afterwards-impressive) Other than that everything else is the same as any other table you will find in your local pub, using the same balls and cues as you would in a pub or pool hall.

Also they are a slate bed pool table which is to say the playing surface is made from slate, so they will last a long time. The only thing that may happen is the cloth colour will get bleached over time after exposure to the sun. To minimise this, always cover the table when you are not playing on it.

The playing experience will be just the same as a pub pool table only you will have bags of room being outside on the patio and you don’t have to worry about if you have room in the house or not. Some of the tables also come with optional table tops and benches so your pool table can double as a picnic table when you have barbeques etc. very useful. Also the wooden versions of the outdoor table can be matched to the colour of the stain on your decking, so it will blend in nicely.

When not in use say in the winter, the outdoor pool tables should be covered to prevent leaves and other autumn debris getting onto your table. Usually they come with big covers that can be tied to the legs to secure them until they are used again next spring. A really useful bit of garden furniture don’t you think?

Choosing a Garden Parasol to Complement Your Outdoor Furniture

Garden furniture, supplied in a variety of styles, offers a great way to relax and enjoy your outside space. Alfresco dining is a popular past time during the UK summer time. However, the enjoyment can occasionally be hampered by the strength and glare of the sun’s rays. If you find your enjoyment is hampered like this it may be worth buying a garden parasol.

Garden parasols have improved in both design and quality in recent years. Previously they were commonly domed in shape, with little attention paid to the fabric design or quality. Today, such parasols should be confined solely on the beach. Garden parasols are now much more attractive and if you buy wisely your parasol will be easy to use and will be of a quality that will last for years and will actually enhance the appearance of your existing garden furniture.

So, what should you consider when looking to buy a garden parasol?

Well, one important factor you should consider first is your furniture, rather than the parasol itself. For instance, if you require a parasol to be used with a dining table you should check that your table actually has a parasol hole in the centre. Many large tables are supplied with a parasol hole, but quite often the smaller bistro style tables with space to seat 2-4 people do not have a parasol hole. Tables with glass tops are also at greater risk of not having a parasol hole. If your table does not have a parasol hole don’t worry. You simply need to change your search from a traditional straight pole umbrella style, to a cantilever style.

Cantilever parasols have a curved pole rather than a straight pole. They can therefore sit at the side of your furniture and arch over it. Cantilever parasols are also ideal for covering other pieces of garden furniture such as benches, steamers and sun loungers. Their unusual shape makes them extremely attractive and the better models will have a quality fabric in a shade to match the pole and umbrella ribs.

Once you have determined the style of parasol you require you should then think about the size and shape. The most popular parasols are round in shape; however, you can find rectangular shaped parasols which look great when used with a rectangular or oval shaped table. Parasols are typically available from around 2 metres in diameter upwards to as large as 4 meters in diameter. Think about the space you want to cover – you want the parasol to compliment the furniture rather than dominate it so don’t choose a parasol that is significantly larger than your table.

The next consideration is ease of use. Traditional umbrella style parasols often used the same opening mechanism as a rain umbrella and they were often very difficult to push into the locking position. If you want a parasol which is easy to open and close then you really should buy one with a crank handle. Crank handles are incredibly easy to operate – the user simply turns the handle and the parasol slowly opens and closes.

Finally, consider your garden cushions. Ideally, for maximum impact, your parasol will co-ordinate with your cushions. There are a variety of colours available on the market, from the ever popular green to bold reds and striking turquoise.

With such a vast choice of parasols on the UK market it is easy to make the wrong choice. However, the tips above should prove valuable when it comes to making your decision.

Wicker Garden Furniture Care Tips

Wicker garden furniture provides a great look for use in the garden or indoors. Whether you’re shopping for patio furniture, conservatory sofa sets, or lounge chairs, you should be sure that you buy high quality wicker furniture because it is stronger and less likely to fade or corrode. The weather resistant properties of synthetic wicker and the great looks and lightweight durability of powder-coated aluminum make these the most common material choices in the construction of long lasting garden furniture or patio furniture sets.

Seasonal Use

Plastic and even natural materials can easily and quickly become discoloured or corrode when left outside. Alarmingly, this includes their use in the sun. Even though garden furniture is most commonly used during the summer months in order to enjoy the clement weather, prolonged exposure to the potentially harmful UV rays can lead to discolouration, warping, bending, and other problems. While this may be a problem with some garden furniture, it isn’t a consideration with synthetic wicker and you can leave your new garden furniture outdoors throughout the year.

Scratches And Bumps

Furniture can get knocked easily, especially if you have young children or pets. Synthetic wicker is largely wear resistant and even if it is subject to scratches, they will not be noticeable because the material is coloured right through to the core. While there will be no discolouration from scratches and bumps it can prove beneficial to give the area a quick clean in order to prevent dust and dirt from becoming ground into the material.

General Maintenance And Regular Wicker Care

Regular maintenance is a good idea with any piece of furniture. Not only does it keep it looking pristine but it can prevent dirt and grime from taking a hold, especially with outdoor furniture. Fortunately, regular maintenance of wicker furniture is a very simple process. Remove any cushions or covers from the furniture and then simply wipe it down with a damp cloth. You needn’t use any detergents or other cleaning liquids although you can use soapy water if you wish.

Other Materials Used In Garden Furniture

Most garden furniture relies on the use of other materials as well as the wicker itself. Frames can be created from aluminum and table tops from tempered glass. Both of these materials are simple to care for as well. Dust them when you dust the rest of your furniture and give them a wipe down before or after use in the same way you would with any dining table or coffee table. This helps ensure your patio furniture looks good.

Cushion And Material Care

Wicker outdoor chairs and lounge chairs typically include a cushion and cushion cover. In some cases, they may have a selection of interchangeable covers giving you more design options and greater flexibility. Simply remove the cushions, take off the cushion covers, and wash these as normal in order to enjoy the best results. You can even give them a quick once over when you vacuum.

Furniture Covers

While wicker garden furniture is weatherproof and will withstand virtually any weather condition, you can buy covers to place over the furniture. This is especially useful if you do leave them outdoors because while they may not discolour from the weather, the cover will protect your furniture from other potential problems like animal mess and it will keep dirt and debris away from the surface so the furniture is ready to use come a sunny day.

Garden Landscape Furniture

One very important part of most landscape designs is the garden furniture that is used in the garden and lawn areas around the home. Including outdoor furnishings in a landscaping plan is a terrific way to create special places in your garden where the family and your guests can gather comfortably, to relax and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings. In addition, the outdoor furnishings will make people feel drawn to special sitting areas so they will be more inclined to make use of and appreciate your landscaping efforts.

A good landscape design not only creates beautiful surroundings, but the most beneficial landscaping concepts carve out additional living space that extends the effective square footage of a home. Depending on the size of your land and the actual design of the landscape, these outdoor living spaces can sometimes double the area people have for gatherings of friends and family. The seating arrangements make a huge difference in how well these spaces are ultimately used and how you guests will enjoy your efforts at entertaining out of doors.

The variety of outdoor furniture that is available these days is almost limitless. You can choose from styles that are very informal and casual or select from styles that reflect formality and sophistication, and just about anything in between. Outdoor furnishings are also available in many different materials such as aluminum or teak.

When selecting garden furnishings, some people like to choose styles, colors and textures that blend in and reflect the overall design of the landscaping around their home. This approach tends to create a harmonious blend that helps people relax and feel more drawn into the garden surroundings. Greens, browns and the more muted tones of nature are popular for those who like to create a gentle flow between their garden design and the furnishings they add.

Other homeowners enjoy furnishings for the garden that pop out and get attention. Often the colors are bright and the designs are bold and not meant to blend into the natural background. The pieces usually have an artistic feel and are meant to make a statement and sometimes reflect the personality of the homeowner. These kinds of choices in outdoor furnishings will create a lively atmosphere for fun and frivolity.

Another approach that some people take for their outdoor living spaces is to make you feel as though the patio or the garden you have just stepped into is simply a continuation of the interior living space. This is achieved by choosing styles, colors and fabrics that very closely emulate the furnishings inside the house. Many people like this approach as it can trick the eye and make both the home and garden spaces seem larger as they flow together seamlessly.

In addition to properly setting up your outdoor living spaces with wonderful garden furniture, you want to be sure that you don’t neglect good lighting for the space. Landscape lighting is a wonderful way to further add ambiance and charm to your outdoor living areas, not to mention it is essential if you will be entertaining after sunset.
