Since we spend some really precious hours of our day in the bathroom, it would certainly be great to see our bathrooms, exactly the way we want them to look. Furnishing a bathroom should not be a trouble as long as we have the required budget and bathroom furniture shops. Getting your bathroom some really good bathroom furniture could also become a good way of putting around a better environment which could help you reduce stress. Simple additions like a cabinet or a designer stool could be made in accordance with your budget.

A bathroom vanity is an issue involving not only comfort but also a certain amount of aesthetic appearance. Among the other things, the use of wall cabinets could be an interesting and fresh way of adding to the look and feel of your bathroom. This would be a good way to free up space on the floor and leaving enough space for you. Though there is a trend of making cabinets for self, you can also buy them at bathroom furniture shops. The other idea would be to make your bathroom furniture multipurpose so as to save space and money. Choosing fixtures of a small size is not a bad idea too. A big item may not let the rest of your room look so big. It’s the same philosophy which is applied for other rooms of your house. Items such as candle holders and cabinet tops, together with a towel hook can give your bathroom the much desired cosy look.

A mirror is one thing available in multiple variants at most of the bathroom furniture shops. Make sure that you have a mirror in your bathroom at any cost. The reflected look of your bathroom can actually make it look far bigger than it is. Its just illusion, but it nevertheless makes your bathroom look bigger. When selecting the colours, make sure that you keep them low in plastic tones such as green. In case your bathroom is short on space, don’t put everything and anything there, and be very smart when selecting the items.

So if you think you could have the standing shower and bathtub both in a given space, you are wrong. While techno savvy provisions at bathroom furniture shops could always be used to cover up whatever little you missed due to a shortage of space. A good space is no doubt luxury by itself. But in the absence of that space, going modern or complete on the other end can be fun just as well. Some minimal safety standards like electric safe faucets and hand rails and bars could complete your bathroom like anything. Go complete on the safety factor especially if you are a family person, or in any case have kids around in the family who may use the bathroom.

Also, a good planning shall help you quite a long way in deciding the look and feel of your bathroom in all long and short terms and help in keeping your nerves. Hopefully our advice will get you to your bathroom furniture shop and be of assistance in finding the right kind of product for you.

Small Bathroom Sink Choosing

Most homes have at least one small bathroom with a tiny sink that is more often than not a decorator’s nightmare. Too often small bathrooms end up looking like closets or worse yet, caves, and homeowners find they avoid using them and are embarrassed when they have guests. This does not need to be the case, however. A small bathroom just needs the right touch to become an inviting space in the home.

Remodeling your bath may be the best option for creating the look you want. Whether your home was newly constructed when you purchased it, or has been around for some time, chances are the bathroom fixtures and furniture are less than beautiful. Small bathrooms are often overlooked by builders as they are viewed as being purely utilitarian in purpose. Placed off of a laundry room or near the entrance, they are at the bottom of the list in importance for the new homeowner as well. Larger decorating projects are at the top of the list.

Replacing an unattractive small bathroom sink with a newer model that has a more interesting design is one of the things you can do to make a bathroom look more inviting. There are two popular choices in home decorating that are a perfect option for a tiny bath. These are the pedestal sink and the vessel sink.

A pedestal sink does not take up the visual space or floor space that a cabinet does and will make a smaller area look larger. They come in a variety of sizes and shapes. You will have minimum counter space, but using baskets and other creative storage ideas will more than make up for the lost cabinet space and provide ambience for the room as well.

It is important to use light colors in a small bathroom to give a feeling of space. When using wallpaper on the walls, choose a pattern with a light background with a simple contrasting design. Add mirrors and lights to give a feeling of space. All wall fixtures should be flush against the wall, so when you are choosing light fixtures, choose some that are recessed or minimal in size. A skylight or recessed ceiling lights are a good choice.

Another option to consider when choosing a small bathroom sink is the vessel sink. This is a bowl shaped fixture that sits on a cabinet and is most often made of glass or ceramic. The cabinets that are used with vessel sinks often have open shelving or are made of glass and metal. Choosing an ornate design may be all you need to create a focal point in the room. You can then dispense with wall decorations and maintain a feeling of space and openness in the bathroom.

A console sink is another small bathroom item that will make a bath look bigger. It is a typically shaped porcelain bowl on metal legs. This, like the pedestal sink, creates open floor space that eliminates the closed in feeling of a cabinet. Using color, light and a minimalist approach to remodeling will help you create the look you love.

Keeping Your Glass Shower Doors Looking Showroom Perfect

Those beautiful clear glass shower doors you see in all those fancy kitchen and bath showroom stores always look so spotlessly clean. How do they do it?

In your bath at home it is a different story, right? Unsightly, water spots everywhere, on your glass shower doors, on the walls and fixtures leaving your bath looking embarrassingly unpresentable virtually all the time. You have tried everything including wiping the doors down with a towel after every bath but all that does is create another problem… a pile of towels that need to washed nearly every day. In addition, you have a cleaning person, but she only cleans the shower doors once a week which means the doors look horrible between her visits. What to do?

Well, believe it or not, there is an easy and fast way to keep your bath looking “showroom perfect” all the time. Best of all, it does take the employment of a full time cleaning person, or a huge amount of time and effort. The trick is to use a squeegee, immediately after bathing while the surfaces and you are still wet, to whisk the water away off the glass shower doors and other surfaces, before the water has a chance to dry into those annoying and unsightly water spots. The procedure takes just seconds and saves a huge cleanup job later. And, secret be known, it is kind of fun… no kidding!

After cleaning the water away, the only thing you have to remember to do is to leave the squeegee in the bath so it is handy to reach the next time you need it. I know what you are thinking…. isn’t leaving an ugly industrial looking squeegee in the bath kind of like trading one problem for another? No wants to leave an janitorial looking squeegee in the bath… right? No worry, there are several squeegees available which have been specifically designed for the bath. Look for one that looks good when left in your bath and provides the results you seek. A traditional T shape squeegee will generally come with just one blade which will work fine of flat surfaces. However, if you have contoured or textured surfaces look for a squeegee that has dual blades. The wiping blades on a dual bladed squeegee are softer and have more flex and like shaving razors with multiple blades will provide better results. To find a good product that suits your needs I suggest searching on the internet for shower squeegees. Good Luck!

The Humble Bathroom Wash Basin Sink

Before we talk about a bathroom sink we need to clear up what a bathroom is. In the US we tend to think of a bathroom as “a room with a lavatory“. However in a lot of countries it is, as the name suggests, a room with a bath.

When we think about designing a bathroom I suppose the first thing that most of us put in is a bath and that is not al all surprising as that is the meaning of the word. Nowadays however a number of people are not even putting a bath but the bathtub has been replaced by a shower instead. Of course, a lot of people do include both. I think that the amount of water used by a normal shower is less than that used in an average bath. Maybe that is a part of the reason why. It could also lead to a change of meaning to “a room to bathe in

The second thing is a toilet and to accompany that must be a wash basin. These two should always be fitted together because, as we all know, it is very important to always wash your hands after using the lavatory. In olden days and still in Europe sometimes there was a bidet in every bathroom. This is a bit like a hand basin but is for sitting in to clean the parts you are sitting on after visiting the toilet.

The wash basin in a bathroom is often in the form of a wall hung sink. This will allow for the area beneath the unit to be used as storage which is not possible if the sink unit goes all the way to the floor.

One very popular thing is to have a master bedroom with a bathroom leading off of it. This is called an en-suite bathroom and is intended to be used by the occupants of that room only. This would normally be the couple that lived in the house or, if in a hotel or similar, the people using that room.

Cleanliness has been an important part of human culture almost for ever but the bathtub as we know it today has only been around for a few hundred years. In olden times there used to be a great use of a communal bathing area. This could well serve a whole village or township. In fact it used to be a focal point of village life. How times change. The thought of a communal bath is abhorrent to all except sports players.

You can get a hand wash basin in many different shapes, sizes and colors although they used to always be white. They are normally made of vitreous china. All the leading bathroom fitting manufacturers will have one. If the room in your bathroom is limited it is often popular to use a corner sink which can fit nicely in between the other units.
